Terms in this page:
- Attendance: Application to attend “Fundamentals of Innovation Creation”
- Events: “Workshops”, ‘Seminars’, “Open Lectures”, etc., which are designated as part of the “Fundamentals of Innovation Creation” for credit. In principle, symposiums and other events that are only attended are not eligible for credit.
- Participation: This refers to attending the above-mentioned “events” and participating in advance learning and on-site working, as well as presenting the results of such activities. In principle, students are responsible for their own participation.
Credit requirements
On the application page for the Fundamentals of Innovation Creation, we briefly stated “8 hours as a guideline,” but this is a guideline for the total hours of participation in the event itself, and excludes pre- and post-learning.
The Standards for the Establishment of Universities stipulate 45 hours of study required for one credit, but in practice, each university may define classes within the range of 15 to 45 hours to be considered for one credit.
In the Fundamentals of Innovation Creation, credit hours for each event are set as the equivalent of “prior learning + schooling + submission of final report,” and credit will be granted when the total credit hours for the participating events reaches 15 hours or more. Please note the following when participating in each event:
In addition to participating in the event, it is mandatory to submit a final report (participation report). You can download a template for the report of participation form below.
Please submit your report by attaching it to an email sent from your NAIST account.
Report submission address: dive-info@ad.naist.jp
You may take courses beyond the total required hours, but you will receive only one credit.
